This website is built so that as little data as possible is generated when you visit. Fonts, images and scripts come from my host, not from Google Fonts, a content delivery network or any other third party. I use no analytics tools and no social media plugins. I don't use advertising cookies.

This policy covers:

• delivery of the website via Cloudflare (server log files, technical error reports)
• one setting your browser stores (light or dark design)
• the test drive, which runs only in your browser
• contact by email and via the contact form
• the demo questionnaire

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Whenever a page is requested, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data on my behalf: IP address, date and time, the address requested, status code, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system (user agent) and, where your browser sends it, the previously visited page (referrer).

If a connection fails, your browser may send a technical error report to Cloudflare (Network Error Logging). Your browser stores the rule for this for up to seven days. The report contains, among other things, the affected address, the type of error and the previously visited page; when it is sent, Cloudflare receives your IP address.

Purpose: delivering the website, protection against attacks and abuse, error analysis.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is secure, fast and stable operation.

Retention: the data is kept only as long as necessary for these purposes; the periods follow the data processing agreement with Cloudflare. I do not analyse log data of individual visitors myself.

Processing on my behalf: a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Cloudflare (Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum).

Transfer to the USA: Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The transfer is based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR), supplemented by the EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). More: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

This website uses the typeface MFK Sans, derived from Mona Sans. The font files are stored on this website's server and loaded from there. No connection to Google Fonts or any other font provider is made. The wordmark and the ornamental word are embedded as graphics. The licences are listed under “Image credits and licences”.

If you switch between dark and light design with the light switch, the page stores your choice in your browser's local storage (localStorage, entry “mfk-theme”). The entry contains only the value of the setting, no identifier, and is not transmitted to me or to third parties. It stays until you delete it in your browser. Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, because storing it is strictly necessary for the setting you explicitly chose.

In the test drive you type a business name and instantly see examples with that name. This runs entirely in your browser. The name is not transmitted to me or anyone else and is not stored; reload the page and it's gone. If you then send the questionnaire on the same page, the section “Demo questionnaire” applies.

If you email me, I process your details (name, email address, content, and where applicable phone number and attachments) to answer your enquiry. My mailbox is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, which acts as my processor.

Purpose: answering your enquiry and, where applicable, preparing an order.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your enquiry aims at an order; otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

Retention: if no order results from the enquiry, I delete it no later than three years after the end of the year of the last message. If an order results, the statutory retention periods under § 147 AO apply.

The contact form on the home page opens your email program with a prepared message when you click “Open email”. Nothing is transmitted or stored through this website; you send the message yourself from your email program to mail@media-fk.com. After that, the section “Contact by email” applies.

If you send the demo questionnaire, I process: first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), town, company name, industry, chosen package and any free-text details. The data is sent encrypted to a function at my host Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers), stored there in Cloudflare Workers KV and forwarded as a notification email to my IONOS mailbox. The notification is sent by Resend, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA, as my processor.

Purpose: creating an individual demo website at your request and preparing a possible order.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract).

Retention: until an order is placed or you decline, at the latest 24 months after receipt. On request, I delete it immediately. If an order results, the statutory retention periods apply.

Transfer to the USA: Cloudflare and Resend are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR); in addition, the EU standard contractual clauses from the data processing agreements apply.

In the demo questionnaire you can optionally say how you found me. The page attaches your choice to your enquiry as a note. If you leave the field empty, this has no consequences. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is to see how enquiries find their way to me. Retention: as for your enquiry.

You have the following rights at any time:

Where processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is:

There is no solely automated decision-making, including profiling (Art. 22 GDPR).

Providing your personal data is neither required by law nor by contract. You are under no obligation to provide it. Without the required fields in the questionnaire, such as your email address, I can't process your enquiry, though.

This website is TLS-encrypted throughout (HTTPS). Your data is protected against third-party access along that route. I use technical and organisational measures to secure your data against manipulation, loss and unauthorised access.

I adjust this privacy policy when the actual data processing or the legal framework changes. You'll always find the current version on this page.
